Mike & Philipp
We are Mike & Philipp, two students from Graz and the minds behind WatchTheLimit.
Our idea didn't originate in a fancy office or with a perfect business plan. Quite the opposite: It had its roots in countless study breaks in the library. Breaks during which we actually wanted to study, but then ended up talking about business ideas, startups, and "what-if" scenarios. "Bro, let's just take a quick break" turned into hours-long yap sessions – and eventually, this one idea that just wouldn't let us go.
What started as a joke became more real with every further fantasy. We kept thinking, building, discarding, rethinking – until it became clear to us: This is more than just an idea. So, we sat down and started working on it seriously: concept, rules, design, details.
The journey there was anything but easy. There were many ups & downs, doubts, setbacks – and yet we kept going. Precisely for this reason, it makes us even prouder today to launch an original Graz product that we stand behind 100%.
The Game
WatchTheLimit is a drinking game but one with a clear idea behind it. Our game uses a fictional "road trip" setting where everything revolves around speed and risk. At the same time, we also want to convey a clear message: alcohol and driving never belong together in real life. In our game, it remains a metaphor – a humorous scenario on cards and at the table, not on the road.
For us, cars symbolize speed, excitement, risk, and the feeling of pushing the limits. We wanted to capture precisely this energy in the game. The name WatchTheLimit is also meant to remind players to know their own limits and act responsibly. That's why we also communicate clearly: Play responsibly. Don't drink and drive.
Our Mission
With WatchTheLimit, we want to bring people together. For game nights, flat-share get-togethers, pre-drinks, or simply evenings that turn out unexpectedly great. When you play our game, you're not just supporting a drinking game, but a project into which we've poured an incredible amount of passion.
